What is StuffBak, and why do I want it?
 

StuffBak is the comprehensive lost & found network that helps you get your lost stuff back. StuffBak's system works by combining the advantages of the world wide web and high tech communications methods with the simplicity of permanent ID labels. In a nutshell, you place STUFFBAK™ labels on all your important gear. Then if something disappears, the label tells the finder how to return it, and get a reward too. Perhaps as important, StuffBak acts as an intermediary between owner and finder, so all your personal information remains personal.

StuffBak's system is also affordable. Apart from buying labels, you pay nothing unless a lost item is found. Then you pay a small transaction fee ($9.95 if you pre-authorize with a credit card, $19.95 otherwise) plus shipping charges. It's also convenient and no cost for finders. They simply take the item to a nearby StuffBak approved drop-off center. They don't have to pack it or pay for shipping.

What kind of stuff needs StuffBak labels?
 

Anything that's valuable to you and vulnerable to getting lost. This includes expensive items, devices containing data that would be time consuming and hard to recreate and irreplaceable personal items with sentimental value. For example:

Personal electronics such as cell phones, cameras, CD cases.
Business tools such as laptops, PDAs, briefcases.
Sports gear such as golf clubs, skis, tents and racquets.
Children's stuff such as backpacks, videogames, uniforms.
Videos of your children and family.
Antiques and artwork.

How do I get StuffBak protection?
 

Can I get STUFFBAK™ ID labels on-line? Yes you can at www.pluscellular.com  to purchase labels for as little as $1.95 each (even less in packs) right now on this website.

I received a free label. What do I do now?
 

Apply the label to an item, and then activate the label on this site (click here).

 

5.
What happens when I lose something?
 

You don't have to do anything at all. We'll contact you immediately through your preferred method of notification when your items are found. If you wish, you can also use our website to report your loss, change the reward, or write a message or special return instructions to finders.

Why is StuffBak better than just writing my name on my valuables?
 

Our comprehensive system really works better. We motivate finders to return your stuff by making it convenient (they just take it to a nearby drop-off center - no packing or shipping costs) and offering a reward too. Want more reasons? STUFFBAK™ labels are made of virtually indestructible advanced materials that won't peel, smudge, or fade. With StuffBak both finder and owner personal information stays personal, we act as an intermediary. Finally, if your address or phone number changes, you can update personal information once and the change automatically links to all of your activated labels.

How does StuffBak protect my privacy?
 

StuffBak enables owners to get stuff back but keep the personal information of both finder and owner personal. Since all returns and transactions are made through us, both parties remain completely anonymous. Of course, if owner and finder want to contact each other, we can facilitate that if both parties consent.

Does StuffBak deter theft?
 
 

While we mainly facilitate the return of lost items, STUFFBAKTM labels help deter theft. Police say that labels reduce "opportunistic" theft, make it harder to resell stolen goods and greatly aid in identifying owners of recovered property.

 
 
 

9.
What does it cost?
 

StuffBak's ongoing protection is completely free. You are only charged in three situations:

  1. When your lost property is returned, you pay a small transaction fee (only $9.95 if you have a pre-authorized card registered with us or $19.95 if you don't) and shipping charges;
  2. If you request payment of an extra cash reward to the finder; or
  3. If you purchase labels.

Why should I give you my credit card information?
 

Saves Time and Money. Simply pre-authorize returns by leaving a credit card number on file. Pre-authorized returns are sent directly to you and return costs are cut by 50%!

Without a credit card on file your items travel to our warehouse first, then to you - this doubles return time and return costs (shipping charges and transaction fees).

Increased Chance of Finders Returning Property. Having your card on file also allows you to offer cash rewards for the return of valuable items, increasing the likelihood of return.

Your Credit Card is Secure. StuffBak is a secure site, with the lastest encryption technology protecting your credit card number.

Why would someone return my valuable things?
 

Most finders want to return items, especially if it is convenient, easy and doesn't cost them anything. StuffBak makes it easy for people to return things.Labels feature a toll-free number and website, with nearby drop-off points, free packing and shipping, plus a reward as an incentive.

What kind of labels do you offer?
 

STUFFBAK™ labels come in several sizes and types, including adhesive, iron on, and aluminum. Most of these are available in value paks. 

 

13.
What kinds of rewards are offered for returning my items?
 

StuffBak offers all finders a basic reward - a Mini-Pak of STUFFBAK™ labels (a $20- value). This is cost-free to owners.

You may also choose to offer a CASH REWARD - but this requires that you have a credit card on file. There are two types of cash rewards available:

Blanket Cash Reward. You agree to pay this amount when ANY of your labeled items are returned.

Per Item Custom Reward. You may post a specific cash reward for any individual item, after you have reported that item lost.
